Four Bacoor cops accused of assaulting 18-year-old express intent to surrender

Four of the fourteen policemen accused of r@ping a woman during an anti-drug operation in Bacoor City, Cavite have expressed willingness to surrender, according to the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG).

The officers also allegedly took several personal belongings from the victim during the encounter.
PDEG acting director Police Brigadier General Elmer Ragay shared the latest development in a press briefing on Monday.
“Update lang po kasi alam naman natin walo yung nakuha [nasa kustodiya] kahapon, six are at large,” he said, noting that efforts to locate all the suspects are ongoing.

He added, “Four of them are sending in feelers for possible voluntary surrender. Pinipilit pa po natin ma-account silang lahat.”
In total, fifteen members of the PDEG Special Operation Unit 4A have been relieved from their posts, including their commander, in compliance with command responsibility protocols.
Ragay explained that the 14-member team had been conducting an anti-illegal drug operation, but their intended target managed to escape.
The victim—identified as the girlfriend of the drug suspect—was then allegedly seized by the officers, leading to the assault.
The Philippine National Police released a statement on Sunday stressing that the institution does not tolerate any form of abuse within its ranks.
The leadership also assured the public that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
“The organization maintains zero tolerance for abuse, misconduct, or any action that undermines public trust.
Personnel who perform with dedication, honesty, and honor will be duly recognized and rewarded,” PNP acting chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez said.
He further emphasized, “Conversely, those who deviate from these standards will face swift and appropriate consequences under the law.”

According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
