Iba police chief, Police Major Jefferson delos Reyes, explained how the suspect fled the scene.
Authorities later found the abandoned vehicle not long after the escape.
A manhunt for the guard began immediately, with checkpoints and coordination among nearby towns.
By Thursday, four days after the robbery, police received a crucial tip from a waiter who reported a man suspiciously brandishing a gun in Santa Cruz.
Responding officers moved quickly and arrested the suspect without further incident.
The guard now faces multiple criminal charges, including robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and carnapping.
Police say the swift arrest was made possible through community reports and coordinated efforts among law enforcement units in Zambales.
