Joy and relief filled Emmanuel Llenos when he finally held Haven, their Aspin, after the dog returned to their home in Villa del Rio in Barangay Bacayan.
Floods hit their community hard, forcing residents to move to safer ground.
Llenos said he could not take Haven with him when he brought his family and small pets to a neighbor’s elevated house.
He also helped rescue a woman who held on to a post and called for help, even though he did not know how to swim.
Once the water went down, the family searched for Haven but found nothing.
They also posted on social media, hoping someone had seen their pet.
Heavy damage to their home pushed the family to move to another house. Even so, they kept checking their old home in case Haven returned.
Days passed, then a week, but the dog did not show up.
They still held on to hope. One day, they finally found Haven waiting at the house, covered in mud but alive.
Llenos called Haven’s return a miracle. He also thought about the hardships the dog likely faced while alone.
Because of the experience, he said, Never lose your faith in Lord.

In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
