Before the auction, officials inspected all seven vehicles at Manila South Harbour.

Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno led the inspection and emphasized accountability. “Mas importante dito sa pera o pondo na maari nating makukuha ay ang simbolismo at pagpapahalaga natin na pag ikaw ay gumawa ng mali, ikaw ay manangot at ang pera ng bansa dapat mapakinabangan ng ating mga kababayan,” he said.

Independent Commission for Infrastructure chair Andres Reyes Jr., DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, and Finance Chief Frederick Go also attended. Reyes said, “We are here today to restore what rightfully belongs to the people. This is justice in practice.”

The auction highlights efforts to recover assets and ensure public funds benefit citizens while holding wrongdoers accountable.

In a previous report by KAMI, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) will investigate around 40 luxury cars linked to Sarah Discaya’s family. The move came after a viral interview where Discaya showed their collection of high-end cars. BOC will check the consignee of the vehicles to see if there were violations in their importation Discaya has also been connected to contractors of flood control projects now under Senate investigation.
