A teenage boy lost his life after he tried to squeeze himself beside a turning truck in Mandaue, Cebu.

The incident happened in Barangay Tingub and was captured in a dash cam video obtained by GMA Regional TV.
The clip showed the boy walking along the side of the road. Moments later, he suddenly ran forward and tried to pass through the side of a truck that was making a turn.
The vehicle stopped at once. It became clear that the boy had been struck. According to the barangay captain, the victim did not survive the impact.
The young student was in Grade 9 at a nearby school.
The truck driver, who is now under police custody, explained that he never saw the boy as he turned the vehicle.
He said the victim appeared out of nowhere and was already too close when the truck moved. Police are still reviewing the footage and gathering more details about the case.
Authorities are also attempting to speak with the victim’s relatives.
The family has not released any statement as they continue to deal with the tragic loss.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
