Four men were arrested after stealing copper wires and ballasts from the Ortigas Pumping Station in Cainta, Rizal. The incident happened over the weekend and was recorded on CCTV.
According to a report from Unang Balita on Wednesday, the suspects carried out the theft on Saturday.
It was only discovered the next day when the operator found that the copper wires and ballasts of the pump’s machine were missing during the height of the storm.
Police immediately launched an investigation and tracked down the suspects.

Four of the six men were caught and later confessed to stealing the items.
They expressed regret and apologized for their actions. The arrested suspects have already undergone inquest proceedings and will face robbery charges.
Meanwhile, two of their companions are still at large. Authorities are conducting follow-up operations to locate and arrest them.
The local government of Cainta said the stolen copper wires are crucial to the pump’s operation.
They estimated that it could take up to two weeks to replace the missing parts and restore the flood control station to full function.
Officials reminded the public that such thefts not only damage public property but also put communities at risk, especially during heavy rains and floods when the pumping station is needed most.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
