Rider and live-in partner backrider die after being his by a bus

A bus accident in Barangay Aplaya, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, claimed the lives of a motorcycle rider and his live-in partner on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
CCTV footage showed the couple traveling along the national highway when a dog suddenly crossed their path.
In a report by GMA Network's 'One Mindanao' via GMA Regional TV, the motorcycle slipped after hitting the animal, causing the victims to be thrown into the opposite lane. A passenger bus happened to be approaching, and both were run over.
Police said the two victims, both from Gingoog City, died instantly.

They were reportedly on their way toward Butuan City when the accident happened.
The bus driver was placed under police custody following the crash.
However, Police Major Joann Navarro of PRO-10 said there are ongoing discussions between the victims’ families and the bus company.
Authorities are now looking into whether the dog had an owner.
If proven, the owner may be held liable under the Animal Welfare Act for failing to secure the animal and prevent it from causing danger on the road.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
