A Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) officer was arrested during a buy-bust operation inside the New Bilibid Prison Reservation in Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City, on Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2025.

According to the spot report from the Muntinlupa City Police Station, the operation took place around 2:25 p.m. It was conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) with help from the Inter-Agency Collaborative Group (IACG) and the Bureau of Corrections Directorate for Intelligence and Investigation.

Authorities said the 27-year-old corrections officer was caught selling suspected shabu to a police operative who acted as a buyer. During the arrest, police recovered four sachets of shabu weighing about 19.4 grams and valued at around ₱131,920.

Officers also confiscated a ₱500 marked bill used in the operation, a dark blue motorcycle, a Glock 17 pistol with a magazine and five bullets, and a black pistol holster.

The suspect, described by police as a newly identified high-value individual (HVI), was brought to the SDEU office for documentation and further questioning.

He will be charged with violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug* Act of 2002.

Authorities said the arrest serves as a warning to law enforcers and public officials who engage in illegal drug activities, even inside secure government facilities like the New Bilibid Prison.
