A motorcycle taxi rider was wounded after being shot by a security guard at a bus terminal in Cubao, Quezon City, on Sunday.

The argument started when the guard confronted the rider for parking in a spot that blocked passengers’ access to the terminal.

CCTV footage showed the 43-year-old guard approaching the 32-year-old rider shortly after he parked his motorcycle.

Moments later, the two started fighting, and the guard was seen falling to the ground. The shooting happened off-camera.

Police Major Jovencio Solis Jr., deputy commander of the Cubao Police Station, said officers stationed at a nearby police assistance desk quickly responded to the scene.

The rider was hit in the side and rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The guard also suffered injuries, including bruises on his face and a cut on his ear that required stitches.

Investigators said the fight began after the guard warned the rider not to park in the area. The situation escalated into a fistfight when the rider punched the guard and allegedly tried to grab his gun.

The guard then fired, hitting the rider.

Police arrested the guard after the incident. He told authorities that his security agency advised him to remain silent and let the court handle the matter.

The guard now faces a hom*cide charge, while he plans to file a case of physical injury against the rider.
