According to a report by James Agustin on GTV’s "Balitanghali" on Tuesday, the accident happened last Friday on a curved section of the road.

CCTV footage showed the SUV speeding as it approached the curve before crashing head-on into the AUV traveling from the opposite lane.

Police investigators said the SUV was heading toward University Avenue when it crossed over to the opposite lane at the curve, resulting in the fatal collision. The impact left both vehicles severely damaged.

Emergency responders rushed both drivers to the hospital, but they were later declared dead on arrival. A female passenger from the AUV sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition under medical care.

Authorities confirmed that with both drivers deceased, criminal liability for the incident is no longer applicable.

The police explained that because both drivers have died, the issue now is only about civil liability between both parties.

The Quezon City Police District reminded motorists to observe proper speed limits, especially when driving on curved or narrow roads.

They also stressed the importance of defensive driving and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent similar tragedies.

The investigation continues as authorities review footage and witness statements to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
