Senator Mark Villar emerged as the wealthiest lawmaker in the latest batch of Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs), declaring a total net worth of ₱1.26 billion as of December 31, 2024.

According to his disclosure, Villar owns ₱912.19 million in personal assets and ₱349.14 million in real properties, which include houses, lots, and condominiums. His report showed no liabilities, placing him among the few senators with completely debt-free declarations.

Villar’s SALN also noted his affiliations with Himlay Reality Inc. and Major Asset Ventures Holdings, Inc. He mentioned that nine of his relatives, including his mother, Senator Cynthia Villar, and his sister, Camille Villar, were serving in Congress when the document was filed. His wife, Emmeline Aglipay-Villar, currently holds the position of Undersecretary at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Meanwhile, Camille Villar declared a net worth of ₱362.07 million as of June 30, 2025, with ₱275.05 million in personal properties and ₱87.01 million in real estate assets. Like her brother, she reported no liabilities in her latest filing.

Camille also disclosed business interests in 23 entities, including Allhome Corp., All Value Holdings Inc., Camella Homes Inc., and Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc., reflecting the Villar family’s extensive holdings across real estate, construction, and retail sectors.

Still in other news, the Ombudsman directed the NBI and BFP to investigate the DPWH building fire in Quezon City. DPWH confirmed that no documents related to flood control anomaly investigations were affected. The fire reportedly started from a computer explosion inside the Bureau of Research and Standards. No employees were injured, and officials are assessing the extent of the damage.
