8-year-old girl found beaten in Pampanga, suspect faces frustrated murder

Authorities in Mabalacat City, Pampanga are investigating a brutal attack on an eight-year-old girl who was found half-naked and critically injured near the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

The victim, identified only by the alias “Amy,” was rescued by NLEX personnel and rushed to a hospital after being discovered barely conscious with bruises and injuries all over her body.
Police reports state that Amy had been reported missing by her mother on October 19 after she failed to return home.
With assistance from barangay officials, her family reviewed CCTV footage from a nearby internet shop, the last place she was seen.

The video showed a man approaching Amy, tapping her shoulder, and leading her outside.
Investigators identified the suspect as “Christian,” a 20-year-old helper living in the same barangay. According to police, he allegedly enticed the girl by offering her P20.
During questioning, barangay officials said Christian admitted to taking Amy to a secluded area near NLEX, where she was later found unconscious.
Medical examinations revealed the young girl sustained severe head and body injuries, reportedly caused by being struck with a stone.
Barangay Bantay Bayan volunteers apprehended the suspect, who now faces charges of frustrated murder. Amy remains hospitalized as her family continues to call for justice and pray for her recovery.

DPWH confirmed that no documents related to flood control anomaly investigations were affected. The fire reportedly started from a computer explosion inside the Bureau of Research and Standards. No employees were injured, and officials are assessing the extent of the damage.
