Just days after losing his job, the man returned not as a colleague or a customer, but as a criminal, successfully making off with approximately ₱100,000 in cash.
According to Police Colonel Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., Director of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO), the suspect had been dismissed from his duties due to reported issues involving the station's earnings, specifically a cash deficit or alleged mismanagement.
According to witnesses, when the suspect arrived, the station’s current staff initially harbored no suspicion, greeting him as an ex-colleague simply paying a visit.
This false sense of security allowed the former employee to move undetected and to execute a plan built on inside knowledge.
The chilling CCTV footage reviewed by authorities shows the swift, calculated shift from visitor to assailant.
The suspect, armed with a firearm, didn’t need to scout the place. Col. Olaivar Jr. noted that the former employee knew precisely the internal security arrangements: he knew the location where the security guard's firearm was usually kept and, critically, which drawer held the day's earnings.
The footage shows the suspect retrieving the weapon, subsequently announcing the holdup, and intimidating a female employee to swiftly stuff the daily cash haul into a waiting bag.
This terrifying ordeal was over in moments. After securing the ₱100,000, the suspect fled the scene, leaving his stunned and traumatized former co-workers behind.
