Businessman dies after alleged beating, stabbing by three brothers in Pangasinan

A businessman was killed after being allegedly beaten and stabbed by three brothers in Barangay Magtaquing, Bugallon, Pangasinan, on Saturday night, police reported.

Authorities identified the suspects as Robin, Rubie, and Leo, who were believed to be under the influence of liquor during the deadly encounter.

According to the initial police investigation, the victim, identified as Alfredo, was chatting with a neighbor outside his home when the suspects arrived and began shouting at him to come out.

As Alfredo approached, the confrontation escalated into a physical attack. Witnesses said the brothers ganged up on the businessman, striking him repeatedly before two of them allegedly stabbed him.

The assault left Alfredo slumped on the ground, gravely injured.

Bystanders were able to pacify the suspects, and the victim was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors later pronounced him dead.

Police said the incident may have stemmed from a misunderstanding between Alfredo and the suspects that occurred during a wake several days before the killing.

After the attack, the brothers reportedly tried to escape but were caught in a follow-up operation conducted by responding officers.

Authorities have taken the three into custody and are preparing criminal charges against them.

Local officials expressed alarm over the incident and urged residents to avoid resolving conflicts through violence, emphasizing that disputes should be settled peacefully within the community.
