According to the agency, the eruption began before 2:00 a.m. and lasted until around 2:15 a.m.
Despite the activity, Phivolcs said the volcano remains under Alert Level 1, which indicates low-level unrest and the possibility of sudden steam-driven or phreatic explosions.
As of now, Phivolcs is still gathering additional details regarding the early morning eruption.

In its latest 24-hour monitoring bulletin, the agency recorded two volcanic earthquakes around the Taal Volcano area.
The bulletin also highlighted that the main crater lake temperature reached 68.7 degrees Celsius, indicating continued heat activity beneath the surface.
In addition, sulfur dioxide emissions were measured at 563 tons per day as of September 27, showing persistent volcanic gas release.
Phivolcs further reported that a weak plume rose up to 500 meters high and drifted toward the southwest.
Slight swelling was also detected on Taal Volcano Island, a sign of ongoing ground deformation that suggests magma movement beneath the volcano.
Authorities continue to remind the public that entry into Taal Volcano Island is strictly prohibited due to the potential dangers posed by sudden explosions and high concentrations of volcanic gases.
Communities surrounding Taal are advised to remain vigilant and follow updates from Phivolcs as the agency continues close monitoring of the volcano’s activity.
Taal Volcano, located in Batangas, is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines.
