A 32-year-old motorcycle rider died while his wife was seriously injured after a speeding jeepney counterflowed and hit their motorcycle in Camarin, Caloocan City. The jeepney driver fled the scene and is now being hunted by authorities.

According to a report by James Agustin on Unang Balita Tuesday, CCTV footage showed a jeepney suddenly counterflowing along F.S. Samano Road on Saturday.
Moments later, it rammed into a motorcycle traveling in the correct lane.
The impact threw the couple off their motorcycle. Barangay rescuers immediately rushed to help them and brought them to the hospital.

The rider, however, passed away, while his 29-year-old wife remains confined and needs two more operations.
“Kailangan pa niyang operahan sa may left arm niya tapos sa may balakang kasi bali rin. 'Yung paa naman niya naoperahan na kahapon at okay naman 'yung operasyon niya, naging successful naman,” said the rider’s sister-in-law.
The couple’s relatives revealed that the rider was only bringing his wife to work when the tragedy happened.
He leaves behind his wife and their two daughters, aged 13 and 4.
The operator of the jeep has extended initial financial assistance to the victims’ family.
Caloocan police confirmed that they have already identified the fleeing driver, who will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in h&micide, serious physical injuries, and damage to property.
“Sana po magpakita na po siya kasi hindi namin alam kung saan namin kukunin 'yung mga pinansyal kasi napakalaki ang gastusin,” said the rider’s mother.
