Four of these patients were discharged after treatment, while two remain admitted at JRRMMC.

Meanwhile, 39 protesters are undergoing medical examinations before being placed under detention. The health department clarified that none of them face immediate threats to their health.

“Tinitiyak ng DOH na sakop pa rin ng Zero Balance Billing ang mga pasyenteng ito,” Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said, assuring that all patients will still be covered under the government’s Zero Balance Billing program, which ensures no additional charges for confined patients.

The violent turn of events overshadowed what began as a peaceful march calling for accountability and reforms in government. Thousands had earlier gathered to commemorate the anniversary of Martial Law and denounce corruption.

Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for the stabbing and the unrest that left dozens injured. Police have vowed to strengthen security measures to prevent similar incidents in future demonstrations.
