The heartbreaking case highlights the importance of pet safety inside households, especially when young children are present.

This is not the first pet-related incident in the country in recent weeks. In early September, a three-year-old child in Cavite was also hospitalized after being bitten by a stray dog near their home.

Meanwhile, in Quezon City, animal welfare groups launched vaccination and awareness drives to prevent rabies and reduce risks from stray and unvaccinated pets.

Authorities and animal experts continue to remind pet owners to exercise extra caution when keeping dogs inside homes, ensuring they are properly trained, vaccinated, and supervised around infants or children.

The Bacolod tragedy has once again brought attention to responsible pet ownership and the need for stronger community awareness on safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
