Authorities arrested a female traffic enforcer in Iloilo City after she was accused of extorting nearly ₱30,000 from a motorist over the course of six months.

According to a report by GMA Regional TV, the complaint stemmed from an incident when the driver was caught entering a one-way street.
Instead of processing the violation properly, the enforcer allegedly demanded money from the motorist.
The victim said the suspect initially asked for ₱500 as a “paunang bayad.” But the demands did not stop there.

Over the next six months, the motorist was allegedly pressured to send additional payments through online transactions, totaling almost ₱30,000.
Authorities added that the suspect also threatened the motorist with a possible case should the payments not be completed.
“May pananakot pa umano ang suspek sa biktima na sasampahan niya ito ng reklamo kapag hindi kinumpleto ang bayad,” the report stated.
When confronted by reporters, the suspect refused to give her side.
“Tumangging magbigay ng kaniyang panig ang suspek,” the news report added.
Meanwhile, her sibling defended her, suggesting that she might have been acting under instructions from someone else.
“Sinabi ng kapatid ng suspek na maaaring may nag-uutos lamang sa kaniyang kapatid.”
Local authorities have assured the public that an investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the alleged extortion and to hold those responsible accountable.
“Patuloy ang pag-iimbestiga ng mga awtoridad,” police confirmed.
