A tragic road accident claimed the life of a female back-rider while leaving the driver injured after their motorcycle skidded along the Circumferential Road in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, on Wednesday morning, September 17, 2025.

According to the traffic investigation, the Honda Click 125 motorcycle, driven by 42-year-old Francisco Badayos III, was traveling westbound on the outer lane of the Circumferential Road.

Riding with him was 38-year-old Rhea Salvarita, a resident of Barangay Handumanan in Bacolod.

Reports stated that as the motorcycle shifted from the outer to the inner lane, it suddenly skidded, causing both riders to fall onto the pavement.

The impact was severe, particularly for Salvarita, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Her head hit the concrete road, resulting in fatal injuries.

Both victims were immediately rushed to the Bacolod South General Hospital.

Despite efforts to revive her, Salvarita was declared dead on arrival, while Badayos sustained injuries and is currently under medical care.

Authorities have once again reminded motorists and passengers of the importance of wearing helmets and practicing caution, especially when navigating major roads.

The Bacolod City Traffic Authority Office continues to investigate the incident.

The fatal accident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and adherence to traffic regulations in the city, with officials urging drivers and riders alike to prioritize protective gear to prevent similar tragedies.

Police are exploring multiple angles, including a possible motive linked to illegal drug5, as they work to solve the case.
