The victim, a prominent figure in the industrial goods sector, was abducted on September 2 at approximately 6:30 p.m. on C3 Road in Quezon City.

Her kidnappers immediately demanded a ransom of P150 million from her family.

The family, upon receiving a call from an unknown number, immediately reported the incident to the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), who began a silent but thorough investigation.

The breakthrough came on September 11. At around 10:00 a.m., three of the suspects took the victim to a bank in Quezon City.

Their plan was for her to withdraw between P3 to P8 million. Fortunately, bank staff were aware of the situation and had been previously briefed on how to handle similar incidents. They discreetly alerted the PNP, who arrived on the scene within minutes.

The police quickly moved in, arresting the three suspects inside the bank and safely rescuing the victim.

The successful rescue led to follow-up operations that resulted in the apprehension of eight more individuals, bringing the total number of suspects to eleven, including two women.

Remulla noted that three of the arrested male suspects are former members of the Philippine Marine Corps.

The DILG Secretary speculated that the group might have been amateurs, growing impatient after failing to secure the full ransom, which prompted their risky decision to bring the victim to the bank.

Remulla even joked that the incident could be a "comedy of errors." He commended the PNP for their quick action and for following the established protocols, which were crucial to the operation’s success.

The victim is now safe and has been reunited with her family. Authorities have yet to release the names of the victim or the suspects as the investigation continues to identify and apprehend any other members of the kidnapping syndicate.

This case is a testament to the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation and the importance of a well-coordinated response in critical situations.
