According to reports, the victim was only on his way to pick up his father from work.
Police said the truck driver is already under custody. Based on their investigation, both sides had a share of fault.
The rider was overtaking on the right, which could have made him unseen by the driver.
Meanwhile, the dump truck driver appeared to keep going straight even as the stoplight was already near.
Both parties have since reached a settlement.
The family of the victim agreed not to file charges after the driver promised to take responsibility for the burial expenses. The case has been closed following the agreement.
In the Philippines, if a truck driver accidentally hits and kills a motorcycle rider, the case usually falls under reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
The driver is placed under police custody for investigation. Depending on the findings, he may face criminal charges if negligence is proven, such as overspeeding, ignoring traffic rules, or failing to give way.
In many cases, families of the victim and the driver reach an amicable settlement, where the driver or the trucking company agrees to shoulder burial and other expenses.
If the family accepts the settlement, they may choose not to file charges. However, if the family decides to pursue the case, the driver may face trial and possible penalties, including imprisonment and damages.
Each situation depends on the circumstances of the accident and the agreements made between both parties.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
