A rider lost his life after he was shot by two other riders who confronted him for counterflowing along a road in Quezon City.

According to a report on 24 Oras Weekend, CCTV footage showed the victim counterflowing and coming face-to-face with two riders around 8 p.m. on Monday.

An argument started between them. The rider who counterflowed then parked his motorcycle and walked toward the two riders who had stopped ahead.

As he was approaching, the two suspects suddenly shot him. Police Colonel Randy Silvio, District Director of QCPD, said the suspects first confronted the victim about counterflowing.

The victim then came back and approached them again, not knowing they were already prepared.

The victim managed to run but later died after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police later arrested one of the suspects during a follow-up operation.

Authorities discovered that the suspect had previously faced several cases, including one under RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The arrested suspect is now detained at the QCPD while the investigation continues. The second suspect remains at large.

The case has drawn attention as another reminder of how road altercations can quickly turn violent, especially when firearms are involved.

Authorities also urge motorists to stay calm in conflicts and avoid actions that could lead to violence.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
