The victim’s body was discovered on the side of a road, and authorities suspect the motive behind the fatal shooting was robbery.

According to a report from GMA Regional TV, the incident took place in Barangay Pangdan as the victim was on his way to work at the material recovery facility.

His body was found by passersby who immediately alerted local police. The authorities arrived at the scene to find the victim's lifeless body, with a single bullet wound to his forehead.

Police investigation revealed that several of the victim's belongings were missing, leading them to believe that robbery was the primary motive.

Among the stolen items were a gold-colored necklace he was wearing, two newly purchased cell phones, and two bags.

The bags were believed to contain a substantial amount of cash, reportedly more than ₱30,000, which he used for his informal lending business.

This detail suggests that the assailant was aware of his financial activities and targeted him for his earnings.

The local police force is now sifting through available CCTV footage from the surrounding area in an effort to identify the person or persons responsible for the crime.

Authorities are also reaching out to the victim's colleagues and family members to gather more information, particularly concerning his lending business, to identify any potential disputes or grudges that may have led to the murder.
