According to an interview with GMA News’ EJ Gomez, the incident took place while both parties were buying ice cream.

Police Captain Christian Rex de Guzman, the chief investigator of the Los Baños Police, stated that the victim, along with his companions, seemingly ganged up on the suspect during their initial heated exchange.

The situation escalated when the victim left and returned with a group of friends, all allegedly armed with bladed weapons.

Video footage of the incident, which has since gone viral, shows a woman desperately trying to hold back the advancing group.

Despite her efforts, the confrontation could not be stopped. Moments later, a shot was heard, and the victim collapsed after being hit by a single bullet.

He was rushed to a local hospital, where he underwent an operation, but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Captain De Guzman explained the sequence of events, saying, “Itong si victim natin dumating nang lasing at parang kumbaga nakursunadahan nitong kabilang party. Si suspek natin, parang napagtulungan, nakuyog. Pagkatapos nagkaroon ng resbak,” Police recovered several bladed weapons from the scene, including a sickle, which suggests the premeditated nature of the victim’s group’s return.
