One of the suspects in the killing of a man found tied up and bloodied inside a Cubao hotel has been arrested.
Police confirmed that the suspect was the victim’s boyfriend.
According to reports, the suspect was caught after sending a text message to the victim’s friend, demanding P4,000 to redeem the motorcycle stolen from the victim.
The motorcycle actually belonged to that friend. The friend said he received a text from the victim on Wednesday asking to borrow money for some items.

But by Friday, he received another text from the same number asking for P4,000, even though the victim had already been found dead on Thursday night inside the hotel room.
This prompted the friend to work with police, which led to the arrest.
Police said the suspect refused to release a statement but admitted he was in a relationship with the victim for four months.
Witnesses also identified him, and his name was confirmed through an ID he left when they checked into the hotel.
Hotel staff said the victim checked in Wednesday night, and after 24 hours, when they failed to respond, the staff opened the room with a master key.
Inside, the victim was already dead, with scattered belongings and drug paraphernalia found on the bed.
The suspect allegedly told police that he and the victim often checked into the hotel to use illegal drugs.
He claimed another companion, who is still being hunted by authorities, was the one who killed the victim.
Aside from the motorcycle, other belongings of the victim were also stolen. Police continue to search for at least two other suspects.
