A tragic accident in Nueva Vizcaya left a female rider severely injured after attempting to retrieve her cellphone that had fallen on the road.

According to Bagabag Chief of Police, the incident occurred when the victim stopped to pick up her dropped phone, not realizing that a vehicle was approaching.
"Itong cellphone na nahulog so binalikan niya, tamang-tamang mayroon naming parating na sasakyan at tinamaan siya," the police official said.
The collision resulted in the rider losing one of her arms. She was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities are still determining liability in the case, though initial findings suggest the accident was triggered by the victim’s decision to return for her phone in the middle of the road.
