A man was injured after his vehicle rammed into a tree along Congressional Road, Barangay 173, North Caloocan City, around 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

According to barangay officials who were first to respond at the scene, the victim was on his way to pick up his toga in preparation for his graduation ceremony scheduled for Sunday.

However, his trip was cut short after he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree by the roadside.

Emergency responders quickly rushed the man to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Initial reports indicated that he sustained a fracture in his thigh as a result of the crash.

Witnesses in the area recounted seeing the car swerving before hitting the tree.

Barangay personnel immediately called for assistance to ensure the victim was brought to safety. Authorities have yet to determine if speeding or other factors contributed to the accident.

The incident has drawn concern from residents in the area, with some pointing out the need for additional traffic safety measures along Congressional Road, a route known for heavy vehicle flow.

Despite his injuries, barangay officials expressed hope for the victim’s recovery, emphasizing that it was unfortunate the accident occurred just a day before one of the most important milestones in his life.
