According to a report by Sendee Salvacio on GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon, the child’s body was discovered by a fishing couple around 5 a.m.

Her upper body was wrapped in a garbage bag, leading them to initially mistake her for a doll.

“I was pulling the net, Ma’am. Then after about four steps, I looked and saw a foot. I said, ‘Pull it in, there’s a dead child here,’” recalled witness Erlina Dacierdo.

Her family positively identified her remains.

An initial examination by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) revealed three slash wounds on the child’s neck.

“We saw three cuts on the neck of the child. Then we learned this was the missing child from Asingan last night,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence Keith Calub.

Witnesses reported seeing a Toyota Fortuner stop in front of the victim’s house before the child was carried inside.

Police said the suspect could possibly be someone the victim knew.

The family has appealed to the public not to share photos or videos of the child’s body out of respect. Local officials strongly condemned the brutal crime and urged authorities to deliver justice for the victim.
