Woman caught assaulting teen who allegedly slapped, punched her son

A woman was caught on CCTV slapping and punching a 14-year-old boy in Barangay Tumaga, according to a report from Unang Balita on Wednesday.

The footage showed the boy playing when the woman arrived. She confronted him before physically attacking him. As a result, the boy sustained a bump on his head.

Investigators said the woman acted in retaliation, claiming the boy had allegedly hurt her child during an earlier altercation.

“Gumanti lamang ang babae matapos saktan umano ng binatilyo ang kaniyang anak nang makaaway ito,” the report stated.

Barangay officials revealed that the woman is still under probation due to a previous case involving assault and threats.

This raised concerns among residents about her behavior and repeated involvement in violent incidents.

The parents of the victim, who are neighbors of the suspect, expressed determination to pursue legal action.

“Desidido ang magulang ng biktima na sampahan ng reklamo ang babae, na kanilang kapitbahay,” barangay authorities said.

Police confirmed that the suspect is now in their custody. She has not given any statement to the media regarding the incident. Authorities are expected to file charges as the investigation continues.

The case has sparked discussions in the community about handling disputes involving minors and the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully.

Still in other news, four individuals were injured in an explosion on Tayuman and Dagupan Streets in Tondo, Manila. The blast was caused by a dismantled air-conditioning compressor that was being scavenged. One of the victims sustained a severed hand and another suffered a jaw injury, while two others had minor injuries. The Manila Police District's Explosive Ordnance Division and Scene of the Crime Operatives are investigating the incident and have ruled out a bomb as the cause.
