Five nuns and one monk were injured after a trailer truck collided with their vehicle in Barangay Sampagar, Damulog, Bukidnon, on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Their driver, identified as 65-year-old Alfredo Lagrimas, died on the spot due to serious injuries from the crash.

According to the Damulog Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the group’s vehicle came from Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, and was on its way to Polomolok, South Cotabato, when the accident occurred.

Reports said the trailer truck was speeding when it entered a curved section of the road. It crossed into the opposite lane, hitting the victims’ vehicle.

The injured religious members are now being treated at Bukidnon Provincial Hospital-Kibawe.

The Damulog Municipal Police Station has started its investigation to determine the full details of the incident.
