San Miguel Corporation Chairman Ramon Ang shared his voluntary plan to help solve the massive flooding in Metro Manila.

During a press briefing on Friday, August 8, 2025, Ang said he’s ready to use his own money to buy land for schools and housing affected by the floods.

He made it clear that his help comes with no cost to the government or the public.

Ramon Ang said he is volunteering to help fix the flooding in the entire Metro Manila and will shoulder the expenses himself.

He added that if there are schools that need to be relocated, he will buy land and build new ones.

Ang also said he will buy land to build new homes for the people living over rivers, just to clear the blocked waterways.

According to him, the main solution to Metro Manila's flooding is removing blockages in rivers.

RSA said that these include illegal structures, roads, and sheet piles built over waterways. Once those are cleared, Ang believes the flooding problem can be solved.

He stressed that roads, houses, and schools built directly over rivers must be removed completely.

It can be recalled that in July, parts of Metro Manila and other areas in the country were badly flooded after being hit by several typhoons and the southwest monsoon.
