The victim, identified as Marvin Quindoza, 36, was riding his motorcycle along the national highway in Barangay Niyug-Niyogan, Lemery, Batangas, when the tragedy unfolded.

According to a report from GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan, Quindoza was navigating a section of the road known for its poor condition.

Eyewitnesses and police investigators stated that the rider’s motorcycle hit a deep pothole, causing him to lose his balance and be thrown from the vehicle.

In a cruel twist of fate, a truck was following closely behind and, due to the suddenness of the event, the driver was unable to swerve or brake in time.

The truck’s wheels ran over the fallen rider, causing fatal injuries. Quindoza was declared dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.

The truck driver, whose identity was not immediately released, remained at the scene and is now in the custody of the Lemery Municipal Police Station.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and assess any potential liabilities.

The truck driver is cooperating with the police and may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in hom1cide.
