A 17-year-old boy was killed after being stabbed by his 21-year-old friend in Leganes, Iloilo.

Authorities said the fight started because the victim was jealous that his girlfriend got a tattoo from the suspect.

According to a report by John Sala on GMA Regional TV’s 24 Oras Weekend, the stabbing happened at a store in Barangay Poblacion.

The two were drinking together when they began arguing.

Police Captain General Robles, chief of the Leganes Municipal Police Station, said the suspect is known for giving tattoos.

The victim thought his girlfriend had been tattooed by the suspect, which led to jealousy and the fight.

The victim was stabbed on the side of his body and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Before being rushed to the hospital, he was still able to report the incident to the police with the help of friends.

His family is heartbroken. They described him as a hardworking and kind son and grandson.

His grandmother said he was her first grandchild and would visit her every day.

The suspect is now under police custody but refused to give any statement. He will face a complaint for murder.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
