Three boys collapsed and began shaking uncontrollably after reportedly smoking a "black cigarette."

The incident took place on July 19 along a roadside in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

All three appeared helpless, with two of them seemingly unconscious as concerned residents gathered around.

Soon after, barangay officials and a medical rescue team arrived and immediately attended to the boys.

In a report by GMA 7's '24 Oras Weekend,' two of the boys were minors who told the authorities that they started feeling uneasy when they smoked an alleged "black cigarette."

"Tinanong naman natin 'yung isa nilang kasama na nanginig may mga binabanggit naman siya kung saan niya nakuha pero subject for investigation pa natin para maconfirm talaga natin kung kanino nanggaling talaga itong alleged na sigarilyo na hinithit nila," said PMAJ. According to the report, the boys voluntarily agreed to give their specimens to determine what actually happened to them.

A special task group has already been assigned to the incident.

According to PDEA, they haven't received any report from the Palawan Police about the incident, but they have already received similar reports before.

Based on their data, the alleged "black cigarette" is normally from Vietnam, and it has high nicotine content.

"We also received reports nga noon, 2025, na it is known na itong cigarettes daw na ito, they contain very high nicotine. So as to the contents kung may cannab!s, wala naman tayong report na natatanggap na ganoon," said ATTY. JOSEPH FREDERICK CALULUT SPOKESPERSON, PDEA.
