To recall, Lee was covering flood conditions on Taft Avenue when she unintentionally said the floodwater was “hanggang binti na ‘yung tuhod,” a mix-up that quickly circulated online and sparked memes.

Canoy, who was anchoring the segment, later posted a photo with Lee on social media, accompanied by a supportive caption.

“Papakainin ko na ng dinner sa caf [cafeteria] itong si Izzy,” he playfully wrote.

He followed it with a statement coming to Lee’s defense.

“And a serving of…we’re human and it happens to the best of us,” Canoy capped off his post.

Previously, Lee explained that she hadn’t slept or eaten prior to the segment, which may have caused the error. She promised to look after her health moving forward and eat before future live reports.

“Sorry po, wala pang kain at tulog. Next time kakain muna ako para hindi na hanggang binti ang tuhod. Ingat sa baha, mga Kapamilya!” she wrote in an online post.

Her honesty — and Canoy’s encouragement — resonated with many viewers who applauded her professionalism and humility.

Several areas in Metro Manila and nearby provinces have reported flooding due to continuous rains. Local governments have suspended classes and work in affected areas as precautionary measures.

In a previous report by KAMI, Food content creator Ryan “Ninong Ry” Morales Reyes posted about the flooding in his Malabon residence due to the intensified habagat rains. On his social media pages, the celebrity chef shared photos showing his home submerged in floodwaters. Along with the photos, Ninong Ry urged netizens to stay safe and left an uplifting message. His emotional post resonated with netizens, many of whom praised his strength and calm in the face of adversity. This is not the first time the chef-vlogger has endured flooding in his home, as he also experienced the same ordeal during Typhoon Carina last year.

In another report, Dr. Kilimanguru went viral after clapping back at a netizen who criticized his advice on leptospirosis amid the heavy rains and flooding brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.” In a recent post, the doctor and content creator known for sharing medical tips online urged those who waded through floodwaters to seek immediate preventive treatment. However, a netizen took issue with the advice and called the concerned doctor “privileged,” prompting Dr. Kilimanguru to pen a fiery reply. The doctor followed it up with another post and a series of comments that further showed his frustration.
