Avanceña confirmed that she has put up their house for sale in Doña Luisa Village Phase 1, citing security threats as the main reason for their decision to leave the property.
“Alam niya at saka alam ng anak ko. Di naman kami nanghihingi kagaya ng iba,” Avanceña said during her visit to the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention center on Wednesday, July 23.
She explained that the decision to sell the house was made with the full knowledge of Duterte and their daughter, Veronica. The move, she emphasized, was not driven by financial difficulties but rather by concerns for their safety.

Avanceña also took the opportunity to dismiss insinuations that their family is seeking financial gain from the situation.
“Wala naman kami nilabas na libro para pagkakitaan ko,” she said, alluding to public figures who release books for personal profit.
The former First Lady’s statements came amid growing public attention on their family's private affairs, especially as the former president faces legal challenges in the International Criminal Court.
Avanceña's visit to the ICC detention center sparked media interest, but she clarified that her primary concern remains the safety and privacy of her family, rather than engaging in any public spectacle.
The Duterte family has yet to release an official statement regarding the sale of their Davao residence, but Avanceña reiterated that their decision was a personal one, rooted in practical concerns over security.
