Rescuers are currently searching for the occupants of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) that fell into a creek in Caloocan City, according to Mayor Dale Malapitan.

In an interview with Super Radyo dzBB on Tuesday, Malapitan said the SUV was discovered at the Durian Bridge, about an hour after it plunged into the creek near Doña Aurora Street.
“Medyo malayo na 'yon sa lakas na rin ng current ng baha,” the mayor said. “Wala na yung pasahero sa loob. Patuloy ang ating paghahanap.”
He emphasized that efforts to locate the missing individuals remain active and relentless.

“Dun sa mga missing natin, hanggang sa kasalukuyan, patuloy ang ating paghahanap at bilin na bilin po natin na 'wag po tayo tumigil hanggat hindi nahahanap yung missing persons natin,” he added.
According to Malapitan, the SUV entered the flooded Doña Aurora Street on Monday despite it being impassable at the time due to rising waters.
“Sa CCTV sa command center, nakita natin yung pangyayari kaya agad dumating yung ating rescue doon,” he said.
The mayor also assured the public that the city’s main roads are now accessible.
Authorities continue to urge residents to exercise caution during heavy rains and to avoid attempting to pass through submerged streets.
The search for the missing individuals remains a top priority for Caloocan’s emergency responders.
