The victim, identified as Seannen Gellangarin, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. She was a single mother, an online seller, and the daughter of the president of the Tagum City Chamber of Commerce.

According to police investigations, a male suspect forced his way into Gellangarin’s apartment, followed shortly by a series of gunshots, as reported by a witness.

"Galit daw 'yung suspek na kumatok, so the victim ang siyang nagbukas ng pinto, and then pagbukas ng pinto dun na po binaril ng suspek na galit na galit," PMAJ Anjanette Tirador, spokesperson Davao Del Norte PPO said in One PH.

Authorities conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect, a 49-year-old man known as “Joji,” at an inn in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

Recovered from him were a firearm and several sachets of suspected shabu.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to harboring jealousy, claiming he and the victim had no official relationship status but that he had been supporting her financially.

His resentment reportedly intensified after learning that Gellangarin had been drinking with three other men at the apartment before the incident.

Joji is now under the custody of Panabo police and faces multiple charges, including murder and illegal possession of dr&gs and firearms.

Authorities continue their investigation into the case.
