Teen student gunned down in Calamba by riding-in-tandem

A 17-year-old student was shot dead in broad daylight in Purok 7, Barangay Parian, Calamba City, on Thursday, July 17, Manila Bulletin reported.

Authorities identified the victim only by his initials, JP. According to the police report, JP was walking along the road when two unidentified men on a motorcycle suddenly approached him and opened fire.

The teenager sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on the spot.

Witnesses described the suspects as both wearing T-shirts, caps, and shorts.

One of the suspects wore six-pocket shorts and a cap, while the other had on a baseball cap and regular shorts. Both immediately fled the scene heading in the direction of Barangay Uno.

Local law enforcement has launched a manhunt for the gunmen. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from nearby establishments and are conducting follow-up operations to determine the motive behind the killing and to identify those responsible.

Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

JP’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, especially among residents of Barangay Parian.

Many expressed concern over the brazenness of the attack and called for heightened police visibility to ensure public safety.

As of this writing, the suspects remain at large.
