The lifeless body of a 24-year-old nursing student was discovered floating in the sea near Barangay Maria Cristina in Iligan City early Wednesday morning, July 11.

The victim was identified as Chloe Suzanne Villaester, a resident and student in the area. According to authorities, Villaester was last seen around 10:00 p.m. the night before, when she alighted from a motorcycle and began walking alone on a nearby bridge.
Moments later, she reportedly vanished without a trace.
At approximately 6:15 a.m. the following day, residents spotted her body floating roughly 150 meters away from the shoreline.

Authorities were immediately alerted, and the body was recovered from the water.
Based on the initial findings of the investigation, there were no signs of foul play or visible injuries on Villaester’s body.
Police noted that there were no indications of struggle or external wounds, and are now working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her sudden disappearance and death.
The incident has left the local community in shock, especially Villaester’s family, friends, and fellow students, who are now mourning the unexpected loss of a young woman described as bright and kind-hearted.
Authorities have not yet ruled out any possibilities as investigations continue.
