A 43-year-old garbage truck driver identified as Cholan Binala was killed on the spot after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a residential home and store in Mabuhay Homes, Barangay Darangan, Binangonan, Rizal on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

According to the initial investigation by the Rizal Police, the truck may have lost its brakes, causing the fatal accident, ABS-CBN reported.
Authorities are continuing their probe to determine the exact cause of the crash and whether mechanical failure or human error played a role.
The impact of the collision destroyed portions of the structure, but no other casualties were reported at the time of writing. Residents in the area were left shocked, as many had just finished lunch and were inside their homes when the crash happened.

This incident is the latest in a series of recent brake-related truck accidents in the country.

At the hotel, CCTV showed the driver holding her arm, and the girl said: "hihingi po sana ako ng tulong kaso natatakot po ako sa kanya."
