The alleged assault transpired late Saturday within a secluded, uncultivated plot of land interspersed with banana trees in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Inquirer reported.

Details released by the police indicate the victim was returning home after purchasing school supplies and food.

"The victim had just come from school and asked permission from her mother to buy food and school materials. While walking home, the suspect, reeking of alcohol, approached her and put his arm over her shoulder," the NCRPO stated.

The perpetrator, reportedly wielding a kitchen knife, then escalated the confrontation.

"Threatening to kill her if she screamed, he forcibly dragged her into a dark, vacant area where he sexually assaulted and raped her," the NCRPO further elaborated.

The brave teenager successfully broke free and promptly alerted a passing police patrol, leading to the swift apprehension of the suspect.

While specific identities were withheld by the NCRPO, the victim underwent a forensic examination.

The accused is now in the custody of the Quezon City Police District, facing inquest proceedings for alleged violations of Republic Act 8353, commonly known as the Anti-Rape Law.
