According to Totoy, the alleged mastermind had offered him millions of pesos in hush money in exchange for his silence regarding the fate of the sabungeros. When he refused, Totoy says the response was swift and deadly: the same people allegedly behind the disappearances were now planning to have his family killed. He claimed that he was willing to take the details of the case to his grave but the threat to his family forced his hand.
In another revelation, Totoy claimed the sabungeros were kidnapped and killed after they were suspected of cheating in cockfighting (sabong). This cheating allegedly caused financial losses to the business of the supposed mastermind. Totoy said the victims were abducted and later executed, with their bodies allegedly dumped in Taal Lake.
The “missing sabungeros” case has gripped the nation since 2021, when over 30 men vanished under mysterious circumstances after attending cockfighting matches in various arenas, including those linked to online e-sabong platforms.

The Department of Justice has since acknowledged the interview and is evaluating Totoy’s claims. As of this writing, no formal charges have been filed based on Totoy’s statements.
In response, the accused party’s camp has maintained that the allegations lack any factual basis.
Representatives for the accusesd released a statement reaffirming their confidence in the ongoing investigations and dismissed Totoy’s claims as unfounded.
They further revealed plans to file a formal complaint affidavit later today, Thursday, at the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office—not only against Totoy but also naming an additional individual believed to be involved in spreading the accusations.
