The incident occurred in Barangay 8 during the early hours of Wednesday.

According to a 24 Oras Weekend report by Bea Pinlac, CCTV footage captured the suspect sneaking into his neighbor’s home and taking a watch from a small cabinet placed above the refrigerator.

“‘Yung victim natin, mahimbing ang pagkakatulog. Then nagising na lang siya, may narinig siyang ingay sa kitchen nila. After the incident, the victim immediately sought assistance from barangay officials and the police.

“Nagsabi itong victim natin upon interview rito sa opisina na kilalang kilala niya 'yun kasi nga kapitbahay talaga nila at talamak na magnanakaw talaga doon sa lugar nila,” Caburog added.

A follow-up operation led to the arrest of the suspect near his residence. Officers confirmed his identity through CCTV footage—he was wearing the very same stolen watch when apprehended.

“Identifed naman na talaga siya through CCTV. Suot-suot niya 'yung relo na ninakaw niya sa victim natin,” Caburog confirmed.
The suspect admitted to the crime, saying, “Para pangkain lang po namin. Sising sisi po ako, sana mapatawad niya po ako.”

He is now facing robbery charges and is detained at the Sangandaan Police Station.
