According to his daughter, Miguella, her father was trimming overgrown branches of trees.

Suddenly, her father felt dizzy, resulting in him losing balance and falling while he was up the stairs.

It just so happened that a pointed wood was right beneath him. He fell right into it; that's why a pointy wood pierced through his right chest.

As of this writing, Layba is at the RTN Hospital Riotuba Bataraza Palawan, and they're still trying to remove the wood that pierced through his chest.

Generally speaking, a wooden stake is a pointed piece of wood that is often driven into the ground.

It is commonly used for supporting plants, marking boundaries, securing structures, or even for construction and outdoor work.

Stakes can vary in size and thickness, depending on their purpose.

They usually have one end that is sharpened to make it easier to push or hammer into the soil or other surfaces.
