The incident took place at Jaro Plaza in Iloilo City, according to a report by GMA Regional TV aired on *Balitanghali* on Wednesday.
The victim, who struggled to walk due to his injuries, was assisted by three men as he was rushed to the hospital.
Police stated that the victim sustained stab wounds to his back and arm but is now recovering.

Authorities were able to promptly apprehend the suspect as police officers were already patrolling the area when the stabbing occurred.
The knife used in the attack was also recovered from the suspect.
During the investigation, the suspect admitted that he believed the victim was the same person who had allegedly punched him last year.
Driven by this mistaken identity, he attacked the man without verifying the facts.
The suspect expressed remorse for his actions, saying he regretted what he had done.
However, he is now facing serious consequences, as charges of frustrated h&micide have been filed against him.
Police reminded the public to avoid taking matters into their own hands and to allow the proper legal channels to address past grievances.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
