A shocking incident of animal cruelty has surfaced in Punta, Santa Ana, Manila, where an unidentified man, appearing to have run amok, violently attacked a dog with a blunt object on Sunday.

The distressing assault was witnessed by the dog's owner, who has since vowed to press charges under animal welfare laws.
The egregious act, reported by EJ Gomez on GTV News' Balitanghali, occurred after the 26-year-old suspect reportedly got into an altercation with several relatives.
Barangay official Fernando Mercado, a councilor from Barangay 900, explained that the dog became the unfortunate target of the suspect's rage.

"He first had an argument with his father. He was in a frenzy, then he turned on his cousin. After hitting his cousin, he then turned on the dog. So, he hit the dog. The dog was hurt, it was writhing, it was crying," Mercado detailed.
CCTV footage captured a segment of the chaotic scene, showing the suspect aggressively approaching his male cousin, who was standing outside a nearby store.
Although subsequent actions where the dog was repeatedly struck were not visible on camera, witnesses corroborated the continued assault.
According to Jhun Katigbak, Executive Officer of Barangay 900, the dog was seen "convulsing" after the attack.
"When we saw the dog in that state, appearing unconscious, the village watchmen immediately arrested the suspect," Katigbak stated.
Mercado confirmed that the suspect did not resist arrest and admitted to the act. The weapon used in the assault, a blunt object, was recovered from the suspect.

According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
