A man is in critical condition after being bitten by a cobra that entered their home in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, according to a report by Unang Balita on Tuesday.

Relatives of the victim recounted that neither the man nor his nephew noticed the snake had made its way into their house.
The cobra first struck the minor, prompting the child to call for help from his uncle.
“Hinahanap ng tiyuhin ang ahas nang tuklawin umano siya nito sa binti,” a family member shared. The uncle was reportedly searching for the snake when it bit him on the leg.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital and is now confined in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The younger victim is in stable condition after being administered anti-venom.
Residents later killed the cobra to prevent further danger.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Magalalag West, Enrile, Cagayan, another cobra was captured in a residential area.
Authorities from the Municipal and Community Environment and Natural Resources Office responded to the call and retrieved the snake along with around 50 of its eggs.
“Batay sa mga awtoridad, nakapatay umano ng ilang aso sa lugar ang ahas kaya ito ipinagbigay-alam sa kanila ng mga residente.” The snake had reportedly killed several dogs in the area, prompting locals to report it.
The captured cobra has been turned over to a wildlife center in Tuguegarao City for proper handling and relocation.
Authorities remind the public to stay alert, especially during the rainy season when snakes are more likely to enter homes.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
