The university community has extended its profound sympathies and support to Granada's grieving family and classmates during this difficult time.
Granada, a law student at DLSU's Bonifacio Global City campus in Taguig, was last seen on June 8, when he boarded a transportation network vehicle from his condominium along C-5 Road.
His intended destination was reportedly the Naic Town Plaza in Cavite. The search for Granada intensified after he was reported missing, prompting concern across the university and online communities.
Further investigation into Granada's last known movements revealed that CCTV footage captured him walking alone near the Lopez Jaena Bridge in Naic on June 17.
This sighting was one of the last confirmed observations of the 25-year-old before his body was discovered.
On Saturday, June 21, authorities in Naic received a report of human remains found in a vacant lot located in Barangay Sapa.
Granada's father later positively identified the body, which was already in an advanced state of decomposition, bringing a somber conclusion to the search.
Police investigators have since conducted an initial assessment and have ruled out foul play as the cause of death, though further details regarding the circumstances of his passing have not been publicly disclosed.
Reports from other sources indicate a plastic bottle with "Drain Clog Free" was found near the remains, and his personal belongings, including his smartphone, were found intact.
In a statement issued on Sunday, June 22, DLSU Law expressed its deep sorrow, emphasizing that school administrators had been in continuous contact with Granada's family since he was first reported missing.
The statement also noted that guidance counselors were providing ongoing support and communication with his classmates, acknowledging the significant impact of this loss on the academic community.
"We call on the community to unite as a family as we continue to pray during this time of profound grief," the DLSU Law statement read, urging collective solidarity.
